Dessert Table Ideas
Tips and tricks for a beautiful dessert table: (photos of tables and specific venues below)
1. The average length of a dessert table is 8' to allow for a cake, stands, platters/chargers, flavor cards, florals, and other decor you'd like to decorate your table. *Two Ten Cakes does not supply these items. A lot of venues will have a closet full of items they'll allow you to use.
2. Ask your venue or decorator if a floor length tablecloth is available for the dessert table. Not only will it look great but it will allow us to place the empty dessert boxes under the table and be hidden away.
3. Photographers love natural light which allows for great photographs of cake cutting, display, etc. Think about placing your dessert table close to a window with a beautiful view.
4. Want a topper and/or florals for your cake? Two Ten Cakes does not supply these simply because it would take a lot of extra communication to make sure you love them! Etsy makes great acrylic custom toppers and you can simply ask your florist for addition florals for the cake. This will guarantee the florals match the other florals being used throughout your day. Also, please keep in mind the amount of stems you'll need to leave for the baker. If you ordered a larger cake and want the florals to be bold, you'll need larger blooms and more of them. If you have ordered a small cutting cake, those florals should be smaller and fewer in quantity. Your baker should communicate this with you and give you ideas.
5. Please consider flavor cards or a printed menu to allow your guests to know their choices. You will have less waste when guests know what they will or will not enjoy eating.
6. I will always ask you to have the cake table decorated prior to the cake's arrival. I will also ask you to leave the topper, cake florals, stands and flavor cards on the table prior to the cake's arrival. *See ideas below
